Turns out that the wiring harness to the ECM had fallen down onto the motor, melted the loom, and shorted the ECM out occassionally. It only took 9 months to figure this out, but it did the trick. It was extremely frustrating as it would run like a champ one day, and die the next.

Friend of mine has 03 asmost same truck and know problems with 145,000 on it. Sure love mine. P:S Injectors should be warrantied to 200,000.

My Dads 93 was doing what seems to be the same thing as yours. It ended up being the Fuel Pump Relay. If I press the gas pedal it dies. It’s been acting weird for a while now. For instance, when I take off from a dead stop at a light it sort of hesitates when I hit the gas.

Drove for 15 miles, come back, no resistance on the fan clutch, which I’m assuming if it’s not drawing enough air across the condensor, it will cause high pressure side readings and eventually kick the compressor off. I’m gonna change it today, stay tuned.
