When do I get ” linking error ” OBDII Comm failure?
Dec 24, 2008 I have been having so much trouble with this car so I finally went out and bought a nice OBD II Scanner. Relief came when the scanner arrived but it did not last long. I booted it up correct and as it tried to connected I get “Linking Error”.
Why does my car scanner say ” linking error “?
The car has no major mods.. I could figure out why It wouldnt read> I was about to give up and I tried telling the scanner my car was a 96 and it worked. It kept saying communications error unable to communicate with vehicle check power and grounds etc.
Can a torque Pro plug in Elm 327 OBD2 scanner?
So I bought a Torque Pro plug in ELM 327 OBD2 scanner for my phone, but when I plug it in there is no communication. So I went to FLAP and they plugged in their scanner, and it says no communication, just like mine. So I looked at the plug in under the dash, and only four the many holes actually have contacts.

Communication line does not provide the power. The power is pulled from the pos and neg ports on the obd ii. There is something wrong with your communication wire Click to expand… This is what I feared….. I checked all the fuses and couldn’t find a single blown one.
