Why does my truck chime when the door is open?
It’s like the truck thinks there is still a key in the ignition on ACC or something and keeps chiming with the door open But There’s No Key In?!?!?!? I disconnected the battery and reconnected trying to clear any issue but it still persist.
Why does my car chime when I take the keys out?
Sometimes mine keeps chiming with the keys in the ignition and all doors closed. When I take the keys out, the chime stops. Checked all the doors to make sure they’re closed tight?
When do you pull the key out of the ignition?

Why does my Silverado alarm chirp when the door is unlocked?
My 2008 Sierra, my dad’s 2010 Silverado both chirp if the key is used to open the door. I’m not entirely sure why, I think it’s some feature with the antitheft due to a doorlock not typically needing to identify a coded key. Sounds normal to me. Everyone else I know who has done that ends up with the same result.

Why does my car alarm sound when the door is unlocked?
The door unlocked, but the alarm sounded and I had to lock and unlock with the remote to stop the alarm. (I had locked the door originally with the remote.) At home I went through the process a couple more times and found that if I unlock and open the door with the key the alarm will sound. This doesn’t seem right to me.
What does door chime do with key out of ignition?
Just started this week, with key out the door chime goes off and the key in ignition light comes on when the door is open. Remote doesn’t work for locking or unlocking vehicle. I just gave up. It will do it for weeks, then it won’t. It will do it when I get out, then when I come back the remote will unlock the doors.
How to stop the darn key reminder chime?
Before deactivating/activating the belt minder, set the parking brake. Place the gearshift in P (PARK) (automatic transmission) or the NEUTRAL position (manual transmission). Place the ignition switch in the OFF position. Close all the vehicle doors. Unbuckle the driver safety belt.
What should I do if my door chime goes off?
Shouldn’t make that noise if on auto. 82 people found this helpful. Leave the key in, open the driver door then turn the truck off. This stopped mine from dinging. 20 people found this helpful.

Where is the switch on a door chime?
Side note, the switch itself is not in the cylinder, just the push pin which hits the micro switch inside the electrical portion. This will help free that if it’s indeed the case, but it may be worth shooting a small squirt into the hole where you see the cylinder attachment point.
