When to stop activated carbon treatment for Ich?
I always recommend treating for ich for at least 2 weeks, but honestly treatment should continue for 2 weeks AFTER white spots disappear. This is to ensure that the ich cysts have had time to hatch as the only time meds will kill is during the free swimming stage. Carbon is nothing to worry about, no need to fuss with plants.
