Why are there so many foster dogs in Delaware?
Fostering gives them a chance to decompress, open up, and show us how they are in a home environment while also keeping our number of in-house animals down. Please know that we are not able to predict how long foster periods will last at this time.
When did the central Dakota Humane Society open?
The Central Dakota Humane Society opened its shelter in Mandan in 1994, but we’ve been caring for the animals in our community for nearly 60 years. In 1960, we started with 12 members as the League for Animal Welfare. We receive no city, state or federal funding for our services.
