Is it bad to breed a father to daughter dog?
Unfortunately, the genetics behind an inbreeding do not differentiate between good traits and bad traits. Indeed, a dog’s traits may or may not be passed on regardless of whether they are considered good or bad in the breeder’s eyes. And this leads us to the many risks associated with breeding a father dog to its daughter.
Can a father and son breeding turn out well?
Sibling breedings usually turn out very poorly as it really brings out the bad traits more than the desired good traits. But father to daugher breedings & mother to son breedings (of course only with top quality genetics, because you’ll be sort-of doubling up genetics) should help to bring out the best of the genetics.
Can a dog be bred with a female?
“I should clarify: never bred with a female.” Responsible breeders look at the lineage of each dog and, especially in the cases of rarer breeds, will make sure that there isn’t a close relation between the bitch and sire.
Can a doe be bred to her son?
Obviously one doe would be bred to her son, the other two the buck would be a cousin? Yes, technically, Itchysmom…you’d be safer going with the half sibling breeding vs. dam/son sire/daughter breedings, however, if these two goats showed some kind of flaw or issue you might be better off going with the other breeding.

Can you breed your daughter back to your sire?
