How does the body burn sugar for energy?
The ATP/CP system — the phosphagen system — only works for a few seconds because the body uses its limited stores of ATP very quickly. Following ATP/CP, the body burns sugar for energy in a process called glycolysis. Glycolysis produces energy by breaking down carbohydrates using stored sugar — glycogen — as fuel.
How does burning sugar cane affect the environment?
Over 30 years ago, Native Brand farmers recognized that pre-harvest sugarcane burning wreaked havoc on the surrounding ecosystem: it ruined soils, destroyed animal habitats, and produced toxic air pollution.
How does photosynthesis help animals get their energy?
Animals need to get their energy from other living things, but in order to do that said other living things need to have energy for the animals to get.Photosynthesis is the means by which plants and algae get their energy. Animals also need elemental oxygen, and photosynthesis produces this as a waste product as well.:
How does a plant take energy from the sun to make glucose?
In order to take the hydrogen it needs to build glucose molecules, the plant uses the energy from the sun to break the water molecule apart, taking electrons and hydrogen from it and releasing the oxygen into the air.
