Can you use Bettafix for fin rot?
Once the bacteria has died the Bettafix can help to heal bloody fin tips and regenerate new tissue. Bettafix on it’s own, however, is too mild to treat more severe fin rot. For severe cases I suggest dosing with an aquarium antibiotic made to treat gram-negative bacterial infections like Minicycline or Tetracycline.
Is Bettafix okay for bettas?

How do you treat Bettafix on a betta?
Use whenever Bettas exhibit signs of bacterial disease, such as frayed or torn fins, red ulcers, or slimy patches. Add 9 drops per pint or 18 drops per quart of bowl or aquarium water. For larger bowls or aquariums, add 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. Repeat dose daily for up to 7 days, then perform a water change.
Why is Bettafix bad for bettas?
The melaleuca can burn the labyrinth organ and at high enough concentrations or with enough exposure, can damage the labyrinth organ to the point that the fish cannot breathe with it. These fish cannot breathe using their gills alone and will suffocate as a result of this.

How can I tell if my Betta has Body rot?

Your bettas body is beginning to rot away. Where the beginning of the fins used to be there may be white fuzz.
