Can you be born without tear ducts?
Many babies are born without a fully developed nasolacrimal duct. This is called congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction or dacryostenosis. Most commonly, an infant is born with a duct that is too narrow or has a web of tissue blocking the duct, so it doesn’t drain properly or becomes blocked easily.
