What to do with a Rhode Island Red Hen?
I love our Rhode Island Red hen! She is a great lap chicken and layer. Pretty too. It only took her once to learn that the bird feeder held sunflower seeds. Our Red is also a great jumper for any string bean that dares grow outside the garden fence. Pros: Amazing layers, friendly, cheap and can be found at just about any store.
What does a Rhode Island Red chicken look like?
A single comb has rows of spikes while the rose comb is flat with no spikes. Either way, the combs will be vivid as are the earlobes and wattles. These birds have orange-red eyes and reddish, brown beaks. Their feet and legs are yellow and sometimes present red on their toes and shanks.
