How do you know if you have a mite infestation?
Signs of Infestation Most are difficult to see clearly without magnification. However, their movement across a surface can sometimes be detected. Some species of plant-feeding mites produce webbing and silk like spider mites. They also can cause discoloration of leaves and eventually leaf drop.

When should I treat bees for mites?
Early spring and fall are the best times of the year to treat for mites. That’s when we usually do not have honey supers on the hive and we have a minimum amount of capped brood. All mite treatment options can be used at those times.
