How long does Optigard ant last?
The shelf life of any product is largely dependent on storage conditions. Ideal storage conditions are indoors with minimal temperature and humidity fluctuations. In these conditions, Optigard Ant gel bait can last up to 5 years or longer.
Is Optigard safe for humans?
Optigard has a very low toxicity level and can not be inhaled. If it touches your skin, wash your skin with soap and hot water to remove it. The Optigard Ant Bait Gel is made primarily from food based ingredients and only contains enough active ingredient to kill something the size of an ant.

Finally, hydramethylnon is low in toxicity overall. Ant baits containing hydramethylnon are not expected to cause more than nausea, vomiting, or minor diarrhea if ingested.
