Processing a pet insurance claim is usually straightforward and it should take between 10-20 working days to get a payout. If you’d like to know an estimated date for the payout, just give your provider a call.

Do animal friends pay the vet directly?
Yes, we can pay your vet directly at their discretion. This can be done by ticking the ‘Pay my vet directly’ box on the claim form. Alternatively, your vet can claim directly by using Pawtal, our online claim system for vets only. It doesn’t need to be confusing, find out how to make a claim.

Do vets do direct claims?
However, many vets will not allow direct claims as some insurers can take a long time to pay the claims. So, in reality, the ability to undertake ‘direct claims’ is at the discretion of your vet irrespective of whether the insurance provider allows it or not. Speak to your vet for advice before taking out a policy.

Can I claim off pet insurance straight away?
You can now make an immediate claim if you’ve switched to us straight from another provider. For any accidents, this waiting period tends to be shorter. Some companies may cover you for accidents after 48 hours. We are not aware of any pet insurers that offer instant pet insurance cover for new customers.
Does pumpkin cover dental?
