Why do you lose weight by not eating?

Why not eating is great for weight loss. Your body needs energy to work. You get energy from calories. If you don’t eat any food, you are not taking in any calories and therefore your body will need to get energy from somewhere else. The ONLY place it can get energy from is the energy that exists in your body.
